Pre Ride inspection for ATV's

One of the best ways to ensure that the ATV ride that you are about to take is safe and secure is to ensure that you do a thorough inspection before the ride. If you are slightly careful and detailed about this stage of your ride, you shall be able to enjoy your ATV for longer. An ATV manual typically lists the specific parts that you should check before you start your ride. But here are some of the essentials.

The air pressure in the tires is critical to comfortable and safe riding. So you need to check that the tires are inflated to the air pressure that is recommended. In addition to that the left and the right tires need to be inflated to the same level. Tires that are not inflated properly can cause damage to the tires and can increase the bumpiness of a terrain. It is necessary to use a low pressure gauge since ordinary vehicle gauges are not adequate for ATV's. While you are checking the air pressure, you also need to check for cuts and abrasions that can cause air leakage. To avoid losing the nuts and bolts of the tires, ensure that they are tight.

Other aspects of the ATV that you need to check for include throttle, brakes, foot shifter, lights and switches too. The oil levels need to be adequate in order to complete the ride that you are planning to take. Always ensure that you have the toolkit in place too.
